I have completed the coursework for my alternative teaching certification and will be completing my observations to finalize my certificate throughout this school year.
This is my first year of teaching, but I have been around Aaron Parker Elementary since 2018 when my daughter started Kindergarten. I was recruited to serve as the PTO Treasurer and through that time I have been able to build relationships with students, parents and the amazing Parker Staff. Last year I began subbing and the Parker Staff encouraged me to look into teaching full time. After a hard spring and summer, here I am preparing to teach 4th grade Math and Science.
This is my first year of teaching full-time, but I was a substitute teacher last year at Parker. I have taught at our church for years and before I had kids, I worked as a children’s pastor. I love being able to being a part of the learning process and watching when children “get it”. I am so excited about this new chapter in my life and finding new ways to inspire students to learn.
I married Robert Boyden in 2012 and gained a son Blake. He will be a freshman this year and marching in the NL Marching Band. I also have Karis (9) and Kaleb (6) that will also be attending Aaron Parker Elementary. We have one dog, Poppy, and just got 2 goats that Blake has yet to name as he will be showing goats through 4H. I grew up a panther, my mother’s side were panthers and it is such a joy to be able for my family to be panthers as well.
