Academic Opportunities
At Aaron Parker Elementary, our curriculum is designed to support and challenge every learner, ensuring that each student has the opportunity to reach their full potential. Through specialized programs such as Response to Intervention (RTI), Gifted & Talented (GT), and Special Services, we meet students' unique needs with tailored instruction and enrichment. Our students also have the chance to shine and showcase their talents as they compete in events like the regional spelling bee and science fair. These experiences foster a love for learning, encourage healthy competition, and empower our students to achieve excellence both in the classroom and beyond.

iReady
The SAVVAS PreK Program at Aaron Parker Elementary provides a nurturing and engaging environment for our youngest learners. Designed to support early development, the program emphasizes foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional learning through hands-on activities and play-based learning. Our goal is to inspire curiosity, encourage exploration, and foster a love for learning that will set each child on a path to future success. With the SAVVAS curriculum, we are dedicated to creating a strong educational foundation that empowers our PreK students to enter kindergarten ready to thrive.
Bluebonnet Learning K–5 RLA instructional materials use research-based strategies and a knowledge-based approach to provide clear literacy instruction that helps students develop, practice, and strengthen foundational reading and writing skills. In grades K–3, lessons are carefully sequenced from simple to more advanced skills, giving students opportunities to practice independently and through decodable texts while building a love for reading, handwriting, and cursive writing. In grades K–2, skills and knowledge units are taught in two distinct instructional blocks, while grade 3 offers a unified Knowledge & Skills option or K–3 Skills alone. In grades 4 and 5, knowledge units reinforce RLA skills established in K–3 and build on prior instruction through connected topics across grade levels. The units include cross-curricular content in science and history, great works of literature, and opportunities for students to write text-based responses while developing critical thinking and research skills. Designed specifically for Texas students, the materials reflect the diverse people, places, and history of the Lone Star State and support grade-level success, including preparation for the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR).
Bluebonnet Learning K-5 Math materials guide students to be thinkers and doers of mathematics. K-5 Math materials present math as a cohesive story, building concepts lesson-by-lesson to emphasize the creation, flexibility, and relationships of units. The materials use a four-part lesson structure that develops fluency, incorporates fast-paced practice, encourages perseverance, and fosters conceptual and procedural understanding.
